چکیده

Mlc is a prokaryotic transcriptional repressor controlling the expression of a number of genes encoding enzymes of the Escherichia coli phospho-transferase system (PTS), as well as manXYZ and malT, the gene of the global activator of the mal regulon. The mlc gene containing the point mutation R52H has been cloned into a pQE vector and the recombinant protein was expressed and purified as the selenomethioninelabeled derivative. Crystallization of the SeMet-Mlc was carried out using the vapourdiffusion method. The crystals obtained belong to the monoclinic space group C2 with the unit cell parameters a=235.95 Å, b = 74.71 Å, c = 154.95 Å, β = 129.15° and diffract to 2.9 Å resolution. Photocatalytic Removal of Escherichia Coli by ZnO Activated by Ultraviolet-C Light from Aqueous Solution

Abstract: Background and objectives: There is a great interest in photocatalytic oxidation of contaminants, using ZnO, in recent years. The main objective of this research was to study photocatalytic disinfection of E. coli bacteria as water microbial pollution index, using nano particles of ZnO and a UV lamp in a batch reactor. Material and Methods: In this study, the contaminated water sample...

The crystal structure of Mlc, a global regulator of sugar metabolism in Escherichia coli.

Mlc from Escherichia coli is a transcriptional repressor controlling the expression of a number of genes encoding enzymes of the phosphotransferase system (PTS), including ptsG and manXYZ, the specific enzyme II for glucose and mannose PTS transporters. In addition, Mlc controls the transcription of malT, the gene of the global activator of the mal regulon. The inactivation of Mlc as a represso...

Structural details of the binding of guanosine diphosphate to elongation factor Tu from E. coli as studied by X-ray crystallography.

Structural details of the guanosine diphosphate binding to a modified form of elongation factor Tu from Escherichia coli, resulting from X-ray crystallographic studies, are reported. The protein elements that take part in the nucleotide binding are located in four loops connecting beta-strands with alpha-helices. These loops correspond to regions in primary sequences which show a high degree of...

CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC, MORPHOLOGICAL AND W-H MODELS INVESTIGATIONS ON Mn SUBSTITUTED ZnO NANOCRYSTALS

Mn doped ZnO nanocrystals were prepared by co-precipitation route sintered at 450 °C temperature. XRD results indicate that the samples having hexagonal (wurtzite) structure. From X-ray data it is found that the lattice parameters increase with increasing Mn concentration. The X-ray density decreases with increasing Mn concentration of Zn 1-x Mnx O nanocrystals. It indicates that the Mn...

Nano-structural Characterization of Post-annealed ZnO Thin Films by X-ray Diffraction and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy

ZnO thin films were deposited on Si(400) substrates by e-beam evaporation technique, and then post-annealed at different annealing temperatures (200-800°C). Dependence of the crystallographic structure, nano-strain, chemical composition and surface physical Morphology of these layers on annealing temperature were studied. The crystallographic structure of films was studied using X-Ray Diffracti...
